KTEN Place 1 & 2 (De Soto, Kansas)
KTEN Place 1 & 2 is a luxury 17 building apartment community. Milburn Civil Engineering provided the civil and site development for the entire development. This included the site plan approval, storm water study and design, sanitary sewer design, parking lot layout and erosion control plans. MCE is pleased to have worked on this impressive development that places value on strong community and local ties.
De Soto High School (De Soto, Kansas)
De Soto High School (DHS) recently expanded their existing parking lot and installed a road for extra connectivity. DHS also is improving their athletic fields comprising of a new home-side football fieldhouse, bleacher renovations, turf soccer field, turf baseball field, softball field and throwing fields for discus, shot put and javelin. Milburn Civil Engineering was involved in both developments and worked closely throughout the entire design process with Unified School District #232 and HTK Architects. MCE provided thorough site plans to include stormwater, sanitary sewer, utility, retaining wall and erosion control designs. MCE is honored to have been involved in this project that will positively impact the lives of many students and their families.
Mill Valley High School (Shawnee, Kansas)
Mill Valley High School (MVHS) recently improved their soccer field to be a turf field and bleacher expansions for the football and track field. MVHS is additionally improving their athletic fields to include a turf baseball field, softball field with a press box and throwing fields for discus, shot put and javelin. MCE was involved in both developments sand worked closely throughout the entire design process with Unified School District #232 and HTK Architects. MCE provided thorough site plans to include stormwater, sanitary sewer, utility, retaining wall, erosion control and best management practices designs. Working closely to a floodplain, a storm water detention basin was also designed to control the release of water from the site. MCE is delighted to have been involved in this athletic improvement development that will benefit the lives of many student athletes.
Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex (Olathe, Kansas)
Retaining Wall Design
The Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex consists of nine synthetic turf fields. Engineering services that Milburn Civil Engineering provided on this project were the calculations and design of seven retaining walls, as well as coordination with the geotechnical engineer and wall contractor. Heartland Soccer Association (HSA) is the largest soccer league and tournament host in the United States, and this is one of four world class facilities that HSA utilizes. It was a pleasure for MCE to collaborate on such a prestigious development and produce quality retaining wall designs.
